about LA DIMORA

La Dimora has found great inspiration in the history of “giardini dei semplici'”, vegetable gardens where, over the years and following an ancient tradition, monks and healers dedicated themselves, that cultivating medicinal herbs, contributed to the wellbeing of the community.

To revive this ancient tradition, Labriola family has entrusted the care and experience of landscape designer Gianni Birardi with the creation of gardens and officinal paths, the true pride of this “buen ritiro”.

The history of the residence dates back to the 18th century when the property consisted only of a five-cone trullo, a small rock church and some old stables.

Today, Elena Labriola with the same passion  as the ancient tradition, after careful renovation work, has restored the rooms to create a luxury resort, the perfect habitat for the cultivation of medicinal plants, typical of the ‘gardens of the simple’.

Dimora dei Semplici stands in the heart of the Ittrio Valley as an oasis of absolute tranquillity, surrounded by the rich vegetation of centuries-old trees, Mediterranean maquis and buddleja plants in bloom, which colour the entire garden and attract colourful butterflies with their fragrances.
